Position: Customer Service Associate FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports to: ReStore Manager

Hours:

Full-Time: Tuesday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm & Saturday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Part-Time: Thursday & Friday 11:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday 11am - 4pm

Requirements/Skills: Must be “team oriented”, committed to customer service, have very good people skills and understand own knowledge limitations. Should have ability to be “customer friendly” and professional. Ability to handle money, make change, change paper on machines, etc. required. Candidate must be friendly, yet industrious. Good phone presence and positive and professional demeanor required. Needs to be organized and able to work with others to organize, move and lift inventory as needed.

Familiarity with social media, email, Microsoft Excel and Word are desirable. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) are necessary. Must be able to clearly and passionately articulate the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Stokes County and the mission of the ReStore. The ability to work effectively and sensitively with a diverse group of people and the ability to represent and have an understanding of our Christian organization is required.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Answering questions, providing direction for volunteers and customers, assisting with merchandise, answering phone, and greeting customers.

 Creating social media posts promoting the store and products to sell.

 Developing sufficient knowledge of merchandise and store procedures to serve as Manager On Duty (primary “go to” person for volunteers and customers) when ReStore Manager is off premises.

 Removing readied product from warehouse and displaying on the sales floor. Physically able to assist with moving and lifting housewares and furniture.

 Replenishing stock from excess inventory as needed.

 Assisting with loading and unloading donated materials as needed or available, ensuring sales floor coverage first.

 Assisting staff and volunteers to prepare appropriate space for incoming items.

 Facilitating the logical and attractive display of merchandise.

 Processing purchase transaction and bagging.

 Facilitating utilization of volunteers.

 Helping volunteers sign up for work, check-in/out on computer if necessary.

 Maintaining overall store cleanliness.

 Making in-store promotional signs, price tags, etc. as needed.

 Identifying potential safety hazards and mitigating as needed.

 Other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager.

Qualifications:

 High School diploma or equivalent required.

 A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary.

 Willingness to learn new skills.

 Must pass Criminal Background and Sexual Offender checks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
