GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Serves customers by providing information regarding service and product, resolving service and product problems and issues.
REPORTS TO: Materials Manager
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, printers, facsimiles, and copiers. Requires normal vision, hearing, and speech range. Prolonged sitting.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in office environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows-up with customer as to status of order and coordinates delivery schedules for customer.
- Upon receipt of purchase order from customer, reviews pricing and requested delivery. Communicates and resolves any discrepancies with customer.
- Acknowledges receipt of customer orders.
- Provides accurate timely information to customers and production staff regarding delivery and quality issues. Works as liaison between customer, production, quality, and engineering.
- Answers service and product questions in coordination with Production Schedulers and Materials Manager.
- Maintains customer records, files, account information, and changes.
- Informs and communicates to other departments of issues or changes regarding product to a customer.
- Troubleshoots and resolves customer problems.
- Incorporates duties of Project Manager to communicate status, track progress and costs of assigned projects.
- Receives and monitors customer EDI. Resolves issues when possible. Coordinates with IT those items unable to resolve.
- Reports customer on-time delivery to Materials Manager.
- Involved in training required to assist production schedulers with customer system issues
- Trained in general ERP production planning to act as back-up for Production Schedulers in their absence.
- Involved in weekly production planning meetings with Materials Manager and Production Schedulers.
- Assists Production Schedulers in releasing customer orders for shipment.
- Enters all discrete orders and manual customer forecasts.
- Opportunity to be educated on production planning and material resourcing.
- Opportunity to absorb the complete planning and customer service responsibilities for specifically assigned customers.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Prior experience in automotive manufacturing preferred. Previous Sales experience strongly preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while in production areas.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, required.
- Computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
