Job description
The Catering Sales Manager will book all catering functions, meetings, etc., & to supervise, coordinate, direct, & administer all of the phases related to the smooth & profitable operation of each function in accordance with the specifications of each function order - maintaining responsibility for service at each banquet
Major Areas of Accountability:
- The Catering Sales Manager will make sales calls in person as established for the location
- Promote sales with telephone calls, e-mails, & other mailings
- Answer all phone calls, e-mails, & other mail regarding catering & meeting functions
- The Catering Sales Manager will consult with guests & set up functions to their satisfaction, in a manner that will maximize the profitability of the catering department
- Prepare all catering contracts according to established procedures
- Direct the proper service of food & beverage & table arrangements for each banquet function, insuring that each is completed in a timely manner & accordance with the specifications of the function order
- The Catering Sales Manager will work closely with all food & beverage & catering staff involved in the banquet process, including housemen, bartenders, & chefs
- May initiate purchase orders, subject to final approval by food & beverage director or general manager, for all decorative banquet items
- The Catering Sales Manager will maintain accurate records of each function, & forward copies of such records, as required, to the appropriate management personnel
- This position reports to the Director of Sales
