The Cybersecurity Architect works within the IT team and is responsible for the planning and design of the security strategy, solutions, and capabilities.


Strategy & Oversight:

  • Provide direction on information security across the IT team and enterprise wide. Understanding of all Cybersecurity supporting applications and contribute to technology decisions.
  • Ensure ongoing analysis of information security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends. Determine potential impact on the organization’s security risk posture.
  • Own the Cybersecurity roadmap and provide oversight to all related activities
  • Works with various teams to build Cybersecurity programs and policies to support the objectives of Callon
  • Work within the IT team and with the Security Operations Center to evaluate the effectiveness of the security controls and architectures. Designs action plans for system hardening, monitoring, incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, and emerging cybersecurity threats.
  • Maintain industry and organization contacts to stay up to date on cybersecurity standards, threats, regulations, and trends
  • Oversee information security risk assessments and penetration test at suitable intervals
  • Assist with vendor selection and management, including security evaluations and SOC reports

Support & Management of specific technologies or activities:

  • Own, maintain and test Incident Response Plan, also serve as the lead during Incidents
  • Manage and deliver to the organization an effective information security awareness training program; Phishing - training campaigns; Cybersecurity training
  • Mature our Cybersecurity incident responses, including but not limited to malicious emails, malware, credential breaches, and more
  • Further develop and maintain our vulnerability management program
  • Manage external SOC, MSSP and SIEM teams, as required
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of strong experience with the evaluation, design, and implementation of security solutions.

  • Education Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Strong understanding of information security and threats, vulnerabilities, and business impact as it relates to risk management
  • Experience authoring security policies, procedures, standards
  • Knowledge of key cybersecurity technologies such as network security tools (firewalls, intrusion detection system (IDS)/ intrusion protection system (IPS), content filtering, end-point protection (AV, MDM), encryption, vulnerability management, and security information and event management (SIEM)
  • Must have experience in evaluating Cybersecurity practices and providing recommendations to improve the Cybersecurity posture
  • Knowledge in computer forensics, threat hunting, and incident response procedures
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong work ethic and personal integrity and exhibit strong ownership/accountability
  • (Plus) Prior experience working with Energy, Upstream, Midstream or Downstream. Knowledge of cybersecurity architectures in OT environments.
  • (Plus) Experience with Cybersecurity for cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
  • (Plus) Certifications related to Cybersecurity preferred, such as: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP
