Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled research associate to work on developing innovative methodologies for integrating and analyzing large-scale multi-modal data sets. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about data-driven research and contributing to the advancement of healthcare and biomedical sciences.

Responsibilities

Assist the development of innovative methodologies for the integrative analysis of multiple large-scale multi-modal data sets, including multi-omics data and Electronic Health Records (EHR) data, including comprehensive literature review and simulation studies. 60% effort

Assist in the development and implementation of related software tools, ensuring their reliability, usability, and maintainability. 20% effort

Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations, ensuring clear and effective communication of research findings. 15% effort

Other duties as assigned. 5% effort

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of data analytic and statistical analysis experience. Advanced education/degree may substitute for experience. Proven ability in R, Python, and/or other relevant languages.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: master's degree in biostatistics, bioinformatics, computer science or related field. Experience with data integration, analysis, and visualization of large-scale multi-modal data sets. Familiarity with multi-omics data, EHR data, and biobank data is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of contributing to scientific publications.
