Position Summary:

Segue Technologies, A Tetra Tech Company seeks a Data Analyst to provide day-to-day support to our DOD customer. The Data Analyst will leverage data to improve Business Intelligence (BI) offerings in order to provide more value to end users. This is a full-time remote position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Understand a specific Air Force system’s data set using existing data models and data dictionaries in order to produce various types of data outputs, analyses, and build various ETL processes
• Become a data authority on the system’s key data sets and processes
• Search data for relevant patterns and significant relationships
• Design and build new data set processes for modeling, data mining, and production purposes
• Devise tools to help business users gain new insights and improve overall business performance
• Perform data analysis for production of various data products, such as Reports, Data Visualizations, ETL processes, etc.
• Perform ETL activities
• Work with data partners to define and obtain source data to meet requirements
• Build data transformation processes to transform data to meet requirements or database design requirements
• Collaborate with product owner to read/understand/question/create requirements for new data/ETL capabilities
• Create work break down structures for approved requirements to assignable work components and deliver products against those requirements
• Additional tasks as required

Required Skills:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active CompTIA Security+ certification
• US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active DOD Secret clearance
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Data Analyst and 5 years of experience in the Information Technology field
• Experience with data analysis/reporting/visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI, Matlab, R, SAS, etc. Tableau experience is a highly desired skill
• Experience reading/understanding/creating relational data models
• Experience reading/understanding/creating data dictionaries
• Relational database design experience
• Data warehousing design experience
• Experience performing data analysis to investigate data quality issues
• SQL and ETL experience
• Experience with one or more programming languages
• Strong communication skills in multiple formats, such as writing, explaining, listening, asking, teaching, mentoring, etc.
• Excellent problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills to solve challenging problems
• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferable in Math, Applied Math, Operations Research, Statistics, Data Analysis, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field. Any degree will be considered given the candidate’s relevant experience and understanding of data and related theory/skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience working with DOD clients and data
• Oracle PL/SQL experience
• Experience with GitLab or other development pipeline tools, such as Jira, Atlassian tools, etc.
• Linux experience is a highly desired skill
• Shell programming - administration experience, etc. is a highly desired skill
• Data modeling tool experience
• Statistics and statistical analysis experience
