Thompson Consulting Services is a full-service emergency response, disaster recovery and grant management consultancy headquartered in Maitland, FL. Thompson Consulting Services offers comprehensive solutions to support federal, state and local government entities, as well as private sector industries plan for and respond to a variety of disaster incidents, such as, hurricanes, tornados, floods, ice storms, wildfires, earthquakes, oil spills and other natural disasters.
Thompson Consulting Services is accepting applications for a contract Data Analyst (with the opportunity for a permanent role) to join our Data Management Team based out of our Maitland, Florida office. We are looking for a skilled individual with the right drive and analytical ability that can adapt quickly to the fast-paced and dynamic nature of our industry.
To do well in this role, you need strong organizational skills, ability to receive multiple instructions at a time, a very fine eye for detail and advanced technical skills for work on the computer utilizing tools and program such as Microsoft Excel and software databases (general computer use/troubleshooting and Microsoft Office proficiency also needed). You will take responsibility for reviewing field created data, updating and maintaining reports and troubleshooting data issues as a part of the Data Management Team. Data Analyst Responsibilities
- Manage field data, to include reviewing, interpreting and updating electronic records.
- Review record photographs and field logs for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide quality assurance oversight of uploaded data, coordinate with data administrators and field operations managers.
- Generate, maintain and update reports from single or multiple systems.
- Train end-users on report detail and dashboard capabilities.
- Managing user credentials for system access.
- Additional responsibilities based on other project specific needs.
Data Analyst Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in business, computing or similar field.
- Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field preferred.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include formula and pivot table manipulation.
- Computer knowledge to remain self-sufficient during operations and provide general support to field staff if needed.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Experience in handling large data sets (compiling, sorting, filtering, reviewing, interpreting).
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Some travel may be required.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends based on project needs.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
