JOB SUMMARY
The Data Analyst will be responsible for the assembly of infrastructure within a cloud environment that is scalable, highly available, and adaptable with multiple environments that take advantage of managed services in the cloud. The Data Analyst will work with highly skilled engineers and data scientists to collect, ingest, process, analyze, visualize, and share data in support of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Explore solutions that include “multi-cloud" and "hybrid cloud" deployments that integrate more than one cloud.
- Gain understanding of the kinds of cloud infrastructure they include.
- Responsible for the management, integration, and enhancement of a cloud-hosted tactical Lower Echelon Analytic Platform (LEAP) node to support operations in the USINDOPACOM area of operations.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Knowledge and experience using the SC2S (Secret Commercial Cloud Services) LEAP node; a federated and privacy-preserving evaluation and analysis platform that allows users to run different types of queries, including training machine learning models on distributed data.
- Possesses an understanding of cyberspace doctrine, policies, operations, and organizations.
- Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Professional suite of applications to include SharePoint and MS Project; other analytical software experience helpful.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and work in a stressful environment while respecting security considerations and operational boundaries.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
- Has developed reports noting various alternatives and success probability when there is no single solution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications include:
- Must hold a TS/SCI clearance.
- Experienced with model development and testing as well as gathering, relating, and identifying data with variables in models.
- Requires BS with 10-12 years, MS with 8-10 years or PhD with 5-7 years; Will consider: HS +11-14 Years, BA/BS 5-10 Years, or MA/MS +3-6 Years.
- Background includes quantitative experience and/or education (e.g., mathematics, statistics, etc.).
- Must be familiar with basic data analysis and visualization techniques in Python.
- Must have experience using basic Python data analysis packages (pandas, matplotlib, etc.).
- Must have experience using a notebook analytic environment like Jupyter Notebooks.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Intelligence Analyst background and/or knowledge of intelligence systems/platforms
