Under the direction of the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Manager, Data Analytics, is responsible for performing complex statistical analysis and predictive modeling in support of the organization’s direct marketing efforts. The Manager, Data Analytics will oversee the work of the FP&A marketing and gaming analysts to review, design, and implement segmentation models and report on the efficacy of promotional campaigns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Uses advanced mathematical and statistical concepts and theories to analyze and collect data from disparate sources and construct solutions to business problems.
  • Performs complex statistical analysis on experimental or business data to validate and quantify trends or patterns identified by business analysts.
  • Constructs predictive models and algorithms to support data analysis functions; verifies model and algorithm effectiveness based on actual results.
  • Develops, implements, and revises segmentation models to be used in the casino’s direct marketing efforts.
  • Effectively interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to FP&A management and business managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Manager, Data Analytics, will oversee the FP&A department’s marketing and gaming analytics teams. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include handling the interviewing, hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing of work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field, required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with relational databases and leveraging enterprise reporting tools required.
  • Experience developing and modifying code to create statistical models using SAS, or similar analytical tools, required.
  • Employee must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and confidentiality as they will have access to confidential information including, but not limited to: customer contact information, customer financial data, and organizational financial data.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
