POSITION: Data Entry/Bookkeeper
REPORTS TO: Energy Department Director
SALARY: As per agency salary schedule FLSA: Non- Exempt
HYBRID WORK: Eligible
JOB SUMMARY: The person in this full-time position has the responsibility of: Operations of the computer for the Low- Income Home Energy Assistance Program and related reports. Maintenance of the Client Information System (CIS) to collect client characteristic data for needed program reports to records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Review LIHEAP applications that have been entered in computer.
- Run all appropriate reports, letters, back-ups, and check for LIHEAP computer entries.
- Aid in month-end processing of LIHEAP reports.
- Enter into computer all cash receipts and other related items.
- Prepare LIHEAP external reports.
- Prepare agency mailing lists and employee listing as needs for LIHEAP program.
- Responsible for maintenance of the Client Information System to collect client characteristic data and program service records.
- Maintain records and communications with all LIHEAP Vendors
- Help in planning and updating CIS program as changes occur or are required.
- Provide appropriate staff training in relation to the CIS program with Outreach Staff and Central Office Staff.
- Act as back-up as required during departmental absences.
- Attend meetings and trainings as needed.
- Make all LIHEAP and Crisis payments as needed.
- Assist Weatherization with monthly stats entered into Client Tracking
- All other job-related duties/assignments as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Input, access and retrieve data.
- Act as information source for available programs to clients, staff and public.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Prefer high school graduate with double entry bookkeeping experience, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Excellent computer skills with prior computer experience.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Must possess ability to prepare and analyze statistical data.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to organize work and to work independently to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Must have competency on calculator.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand needs of low-income population.
- Viable means of transportation, evidence of insurance, valid Iowa driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to perform medium heavy physical work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion, up to 20-30 pounds frequently, and up to 5-10 pounds constantly, performing such activities as stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, including some duties requiring repetitive motion for limited amounts of time, such as computer data entry.
