Department: CBO – Payment Processing Services

Reports to: CBO – Payment Processing Supervisor

Position Level: Data Entry Clerk I

Job Summary: The primary role of Clerk is to process and distribute incoming mail to employees within the CBO and providers throughout the clinic. Mail is to be reviewed and sorted by hand. Clerks will deliver messages and packages from one department or individual to another within the CBO by logging and sorting by provider and forwarding to designated AR rep. The schedule for this position is 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday-Friday.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Sort and Distribute mail – Internal CBORecord by date stamp each individual mail piece

Assist if needed with EOB mail sorting with Payment Processing team
Scan mail to correct AR Rep. in a timely manner.

  • Sort and Distribute Mail – External ClinicReview and forward all external mail to specific provider clinic via inner office mail.

Other duties may be required as needed.

  • Office balancing (Blue Bag Operations)Process and handle all revenue/journals sent to the CBO each day from all of Florida Medical Clinic locations.

Verify that revenue sent to the CBO matches that was collected at each office.
Input data collected into excel spreadsheets.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with equivalent of one year of experience in healthcare insurance.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative role.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi task in a timely manner;
  • Ability to proactively problem solve issues; strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills; must be able to collaborate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Strong adaptability skills; able to adjust easily to cross training and new duties.
  • Must be able to be present at work in the last week of every month plus the first two business days of the following month.
