WHO WE ARE HIRING: Data Integration Developer

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

HHS Technology Group is seeking a Data Integration Developer to design, develop, maintain, support, modernize and perform knowledge transfer using a wide set of skills and experience to support the performance of a data warehouse, from analyzing and managing information to supporting team members and thinking creatively to solve problems.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:

Design and Development

• Design and development of (programming, testing, enhancements, and maintenance) specialized software for a Business Intelligence (BI) solution for an advanced analysis of CalPERS business transactions. BI is the data analysis of business information that provides historical, current, and predictive views of business operations.
• Translates business data requirements into technical specifications. Development of CalPERS enterprise data warehouse star schemas.
• Each data warehouse deliverable:
  • covers a specific business subject area/star schema.
  • consists of technical specifications, dimensional data models and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) programs.
  • includes validation and testing of the data used for the subject area, ensuring that the final deliverable fits into the established data platform (the data platform consists of a data warehouse and a system of scheduled ETL jobs).
• Design multidimensional data models for inclusion in the enterprise data warehouse. The multidimensional are also known as star schemas. These models are specialized representations of business transactions and used to support business data analysis and analytic dashboard development.
• Data models and ETL jobs are integrated into the enterprise data warehouse platform based on the established standards.
• Validate the data records in the data warehouse to meet business requirements

Maintenance and Support

• Provide backup maintenance and operations support for the data platform. The data
• platform consists of 3,000+ ETL jobs, an operational data store and a data warehouse. The
• operational data store contains unprocessed data in original form from multiple
• applications. The data warehouse contains star schemas and data marts.
• Developer is responsible for troubleshooting any deliverable-related issues that arise during the assignment.

Modernization

• Modernization of BI data platform and Architecting DevOps into the data & analytics software project lifecycle.
• Architecting frameworks that increase automation capabilities.
• Java programming of add-on modules and cloud data source connectors that work with the existing data platform.
• Groovy programming for task automation and repeatable frameworks.

Knowledge Transfer

• On an ongoing basis, all work products and deliverables (project status reports, business process, triage incident reports with resolution, meeting minutes, test cases, test outcomes) details have to be discussed with the contract manager to ensure that all of the information is documented and placed in a file share.
• The contract manager will schedule knowledge transfer sessions at regular intervals to ensure that all of the work production details have been documented and the knowledge has been transferred to state personnel.
• Knowledge transfer to State staff is part of each project when the projects are completed and released into maintenance mode.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with at least two (2) successful Business Intelligence and/or Analytics projects, one of which with a budget of at least $1 million.
• At least five (5) years of experience in some or all areas of Pension, Health Insurance, Customer Service, or Finance.
• At least five (5) years of experience performing tasks pertaining to data integration (ETL) processes to transform disparate source data into the target data stores, data warehouses or data marts.
• At least three (3) years of experience in data integration projects using Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Data Integrator or similar ETL tools.
• At least five (5) years of experience with interpreting requirements and developing complex PL/SQL, SQL and data marts.
