T-Ads is a small, fast-moving team of master generalists.

The T-Ads data science team creates data products for T-Ads. Our projects range from creating ML models to predict demographics or app engagement to large data aggregations to generate app insights to custom analyses on unique first party data. Members of our team are ready to apply the latest modeling techniques, advanced statistics and math and data manipulation to any complex problem thrown our way. We are looking for team members who can critically analyze a problem, collaborate with product management to find a solution, and own the delivery of that solution to the end customer. You must be able to work across the entire machine learning (ML) lifecycle, including problem framing, data collection, exploratory data analysis, model development, deployment, and performance measurement. Paramount to this job is the understanding that a Data Scientist's ultimate goal is to create real business value from data. This is an opportunity to work on multiple products used by a variety of end users such as the major advertising agencies and brands in the United States.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate data results effectively to project business stakeholders using verbal, written, and data visualization skills.
  • Communicate effectively with a technical audience.
  • Work with the business to understand real-world, vague, or complex business problems and translate them into machine learning or data aggregation problems and solve them by creating optimal data products.
  • Liaise with data source owners to understand available datasets and identify valuable data sources for business problems.
  • Clean, validate and pre-process structured and unstructured data from multiple, complex datasets.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and custom analysis on complex datasets using advanced statistics and math.
  • Create complex data aggregations that persist in data stores that meet statistical significance thresholds and are debiased and scaled according to business requirements.
  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain scalable data pipelines required to support derivative datasets used in data products.
  • Design, feature engineer, train, tune, and test ML models to solve complex data problems including predicting outcomes using latest ML libraries and tools.
  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, retrain and maintain ML pipelines that support ML models created for data products.
  • Train ML models and manipulate large datasets using big data platforms like Spark and cloud-based services like AWS.
  • Create and implement best practices for analytics, modeling, and coding.
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering), Required
  • Master's/Advanced Degree Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering), Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience applying machine learning (including deep learning) concepts and techniques related to supervised and unsupervised learning.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with statistical methods and advanced analytics techniques.
  • 2-3 years’ experience deploying ML models or complex data products.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with common data science languages like Python and ML toolkits.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with database query languages like SQL.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with big data architecture like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in data visualization.
  • 2-3 years’ experience articulating and translating complex business problems into machine learning or data aggregation problems and solving them by creating optimal data products.
  • 2-3 years’ experience writing and speaking about technical data science concepts to business and technical audiences and giving data-driven presentations.

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Washington Pay Range : $106,800.00 - $144,500.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
