JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Support and management of databases and applications
  • Maintains primary responsibility for data management activities
  • Troubleshoot problems with existing databases, queries, reports and forms
  • Maintains rules within laboratory Middleware systems
  • Provides reports upon request
  • Remains responsible and accountable for all actions.

Design, implementation, support and expansion of local Laboratory Information Systems
  • Designs new tools to support management of data in the lab
  • Coordinates new methods and rules with lab, vendor and LIS
  • Documents and validates before implementation and when changes are made
  • Evaluates new tests builds and modifications
  • Performs data transmission audits to ensure accurate and reliable communication between systems

Assist with descriptive and exploratory statistical analyses and reports
  • Designs and manages operational reports
  • Documents and validates reports before implementation and when changes are made
  • Develops and maintains tools to facilitate ease of access to analysis and reports

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of experience in business management systems, including one year as an experienced programmer or one year working with a database software system. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience.
