DDC Controls Service Technician

Description

The candidate for this position will be responsible for the execution of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various building automation systems utilizing strategies with logic block and line programming. Candidate will troubleshoot and repair building automation systems that exist in commercial and industrial facilities. Candidate will be responsible for documentation of tasks and deficiency reporting. Factory training available for Niagara, Distech, and Siemens Controls.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Execution of DDC control systems preventative maintenance tasks
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and operational checks of DDC systems
  • System programming and graphics troubleshooting
  • Final documentation for preventative maintenance or service repairs
  • Daily interaction with customers with a goal of great customer service

Reports to: Controls Service Manager

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of HVAC Sequences, function block, and/or line code programming
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Etc.)
  • IT infrastructure knowledge a plus
  • Familiar with multiple manufacturers' DDC Controls equipment and programming
  • Self-motivated individual with strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Valid NC driver license

Technical Knowledge

  • Motivated to keep technical knowledge up to date
  • Distech and Siemens Controls experience desirable
  • Johnson Controls N2/ FX, Carrier CCN, or Trane Controls experience a plus
  • Must be able to search out and read applicable literature
  • Niagara AX or N4 Certification a plus
  • Experience with BACnet, LonWorks, and various legacy protocols

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. in assistance of loading, unloading and storing materials and equipment
  • Bending, Climbing, Pulling, Pushing, Balancing, Kneeling, Twisting, and Standing
  • Climbing stairs and ladders

Job Type: Full-time - Hourly

Experience:

  • Commercial Building Automation: 3 years
  • Niagara AX or N4 Certification

Required work authorization: United States
