The Delivery Manager works with the motor carriers network expansion. This position requires experience with being a liaison with local clients and motor carriers and ensure the motor carrier contractor needs are met. This position provides vision and leadership in long-range planning to ensure the continuity of the company. Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations through effective problem-solving and mediation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work closely with department managers to define transportation needs
• Own national motor carrier recruiting, including going out in the field and headhunting new potential motor carriers
• Train Location Managers the art of effective recruiting to address performance and capacity
• Travel into hot spots for startups and RRT relief
• Source and select carrier onboarding for startups
• Maintain carrier standards with ride behinds and real time coaching

• Hand off any RRT potentials to the Rapid Response Team
• Bolster local recruiting for long term RRT to increase margins

• Manage all communication with potential motor carrier partners from the moment they apply until completion of the onboarding process
• Oversee the various stages of the motor carrier contractor onboarding process (phone or video)
• Responsible for document compliance for motor carriers
• Oversee the review of background checks of the motor carrier teams
• Set up Carrier Resource Development calls and ensure of completion onboarding of potential motor carriers
• Manage logistics services
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must have a college degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 or more years in logistics management
• Account management of greater than 10 million dollars
• P&L experience
• Minimum 2 years of liaison experience with clients
• Minimum 2 years of operations experience
• Minimum 1 year of contract motor carriers management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software
• Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well, and accept feedback from others; delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations, and monitor delegated activities
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts

• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as skillfully gather and analyze information
• Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
• Willingness to explore ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory aspects
• Observe safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.

• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting
• Understanding of how to develop and implement business strategies through knowledge of company history, culture, identity and goals
• Good research techniques: Be able to to candidates and keep large pool of information organized.
• Sales and Marketing skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 3 or more years in the last mile delivery
• Knowledge of appliances and furniture assembly and delivery is a plus
• Experience in a startup organization is a plus
