Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Demand Planner located in our Olathe, KS office. In this role, you will be responsible for performing basic demand planning tasks including working with gathering data on product demand and working with customers to make recommendations for changes to forecast while considering channel inventory and sell-thru.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Proficiently apply knowledge and understanding of MRP, ERP, Inventory Planning, Logistics and Distribution and product lifecycle transitions in performance of demand planning tasks and/or projects
  • Work with customer contacts and/or make recommendations for changes to inventory or stocking levels to optimize channel inventory and sell-thru
  • Gather data on product demand to support the marketplace, including recognizing and communicating variances and trends occurring in the marketplace
  • Understand and follow departmental processes for the following departments in the performance of essential functions: Sales & Marketing, Order Administration, Forecasting, Supply Planning, & NPI
  • Exercise effective communication skills in performance of tasks/projects with internal and external customers to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques including determining root cause analysis and development of corrective action plans
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency, ownership, commitment and focus on appropriate priorities in developing timely solutions and thoroughly documents work in an organized manner
  • Work collaboratively and professionally in a positive, respectful and ethical manner with all other Garmin associates to achieve goals
  • Learn and perform duties around Order Allocation when directed by planning management team
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree AND 3 years relevant experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND 5 years relevant experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND 3 years relevant experience AND management approved supply chain certificate
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency and knowledge of applicable Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrates ability to learn/gain proficient use/knowledge of demand planning tools
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and other planning tools required to perform essential functions of this role
  • Solid understanding of warehouse, manufacturing and service processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge and use of supply chain processes relevant for performing planning function and understands/implements lean practices
  • Must possess knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Order Administration, Sales, Sales support, Forecasting or Demand planning
