The Role:

The incumbent is responsible for securing Company premises, routinely patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment and ensuring safety procedures are followed to protect guests and employees. Assignments include providing security services for special events as necessary.

• Maintain the highest standards of personal and professional conduct with managers, coworkers and customers

Responsibilities:

The incumbent is responsible for taking all necessary measures in accordance with Company guidelines to ensure the safety of guests, employees and secure the Company’s properties.

• Inspect properties to protect against theft, vandalism, fire, illegal access and criminal activity
• Identify possible hazards that may endanger employees and guests
• Ensure company procedures and guidelines are followed to protect the safety of guests and employees
• Comply with ABC regulations (Alcoholic Beverage Control)
• Periodically walk among and engage with guests and employees to maintain order and protect the property and equipment
• Regulate pedestrian traffic to maintain an orderly flow
• General knowledge about the town is necessary to assist with questions, directions, or any specific needs or requests
• Inform guests of policies when it appears they may be in violation of laws, regulations and posted notices
• Recognize signs when a guest may be under the influence of alcohol and drugs and take action according to Company guidelines
• Handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism, exercising authority when necessary
• Notify manager on duty or contact the Sheriff Department directly when an emergent situation occurs
• Assist with documentation of incidents that occur on company property

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a guard card, or obtain one within 30 days of employment
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills
• Must have ability to assess questionable activity and determine appropriate action
• Must be able to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
• Must be able to work outdoors in varied climates from 40-90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must pass pre-employment background check

Education and/or Experience:

• Must have a high school diploma/GED degree
• Must have previous experience in security or law enforcement

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
