We are seeking a Senior Designer at our Ashland City, TN Barge Plant. This is an onsite position and will not offer remote opportunities.

At Arcosa Ashland City, Tennessee, we are a leading manufacturer of hopper, tank, and deck barges that carry cargo on the thousands of miles of rivers in the United States. We serve a diverse set of customers including dry products, liquids, containers, and other bulk cargo with a proven ability to deliver products at a rate the industry demands. We are also able to manufacture custom barges.

Responsibilities

• Primarily design piping and outfitting systems for tank (liquid cargo) barges. Including cargo, vapor recovery, fuel, compressed air, steam, and thermal fluid heating systems, as well as walkway, platform and stair assemblies, equipment foundations, and minor electrical systems.
• Utilize Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD in addition to Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word).
• Gather information from contract specifications, previous projects, and production capabilities to produce detailed designs and construction drawings and BOMs.
• Work in an office environment, occasionally needing to visit production areas to troubleshoot construction problems and offer solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum (5) years’ experience with 3D CAD system, Autodesk Inventor preferred
• Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar file management system

• Experience with design of piping systems, basic mechanical systems, and simple structures
• Experience with Inventor Tube & Pipe and Sheetmetal modules preferred
• Experience creating Inventor iLogic preferred
• Experience with Autodesk Vault administration preferred
• Experience with large assemblies (10,000+ parts) preferred
• Autodesk Certified Professional in Inventor for Mechanical Design beneficial but not required
• Experience with simple electrical system design beneficial but not required
