Join our team and help us usher the world into Spotify through curiosity, delight, and connection. In this role, you will act as player-coach: leading, running, and growing a diverse and inclusive 0-1 team of product designers – setting focus, strategy, and priorities to help individuals grow in their careers and improve influence and impact.

What you'll do

  • You will build, manage, and mentor a diverse team of product designers that consistently deliver impact across interdisciplinary design skill sets
  • Lead design through best-practices, attention to detail, experimentation, and unconventional thinking
  • Provide context, support, and guidance – you will inspire, not merely direct
  • Develop your team in design discovery and experimentation to uncover the biggest and best opportunities for us to research, prototype, and test
  • Take broad conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and valuable products for people who use our service
  • Set the complete design vision and actively guide your team through all phases of design and development – from conceptualization to engineering execution and post-launch success tracking and iteration
  • Enable collaboration and cross-functional alignment
  • Be responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a culture of design excellence
  • Cultivate a healthy design process for the team, and be a key contributor to your team’s product strategy

Who you are

  • You have 10+ years of experience in Product Design, 4+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, and 4+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, and research
  • You're an experienced, entrepreneurial, visionary leader of 0-1 product design teams at consumer-facing companies
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and whitespace and have a track record of identifying opportunities few others can
  • Passionate about design and what it can do for the music, content, and technology industries
  • A leader with practical design chops – You’ve shipped many products over the years and understand what it takes to build exciting, delightful, and unexpected consumer-orientated experiences
  • You're a trusted and recognized leader, consistently demonstrating credibility in cross-functional interactions
  • A fantastic communicator – You have the communication skills to help you work effectively with cross-functional peers and stakeholders
  • You thrive when developing great people and great products
  • You bring a playfulness to your work and to the people you work with
  • You have a broad product design background and and well-versed in data-informed product design and development
  • Experience working with growth initiatives in some capacity
  • You want to make an impact and take on big complex issues
