Position: Desktop Engineer (Job ID 4665)
Location: Administration Building
Specifications: Full-time with Benefits, Act 93, Group 4
Salary: Minimum $54,264, Midpoint $67,831 (Offer will vary based on experience)
Effective Date: ASAP

Job Summary: The Desktop Engineer will provide Tier III level support in resolving the most difficult and complicated end-user device problems. This position is responsible for the lifecycle of device management from device deployment through device retirement. Routine tasks include application packaging, operating system deployment, operating system patching, quality assurance testing, and overall maintenance within District’s device management systems. This includes, but is not limited to, iPadOS, MacOS, Windows and Google management platforms.

Qualifications: To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills and/or ability necessary.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a technology or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of desktop support in an enterprise environment or similar experience.
  • Certifications Required: CompTIA A+ and Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or JAMF Certification. Preferred: Microsoft MDAA and JAMF Certification.
  • Certifications specific to the position as noted above will be required within 12 months after start of employment.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements
  • Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment

Duties & Responsibilities: (Abbreviated - Please review the job description for more details included directly on the DASD posting)

  • Experience in application interaction with operating systems, including the Windows registry, operating system patching, system/user variables and user-centric data related to application settings.
  • Experience developing and implementing scripts to automate repetitive tasks. Running debug sequences and tests to ensure automated scripts are running correctly. Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell and BASH scripting).
  • Ability to work well as part of a team; sharing research, knowledge, and leading practices with team members.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, excellent communication skills, ability to track multiple tasks and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively independently, in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN concepts and management tools (TCP/IP, LDAP, Active Directory, Group Policies).
  • Employee must have experience dealing with external vendors.
  • Knowledge of device management systems such as JAMF Casper, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Configuration Manager (InTune), Google Admin Console.
