Job description
This is a Senior Web Developer role within the Bob Evans Restaurants IT department
Statement of Purpose:
The Senior Web Applications Developer position plays an integral role in application development initiatives for Bob Evans Restaurants. This role works collaboratively with all levels within the Bob Evans organization to design, build and maintain digital solutions, including our public web site, online ordering system and other eCommerce integrations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops and maintains web applications and system integrations.
- Collaborates with product owners and business stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and timelines for projects.
- Assists in designing web layouts, UI elements, and creates engaging experiences for customers.
- Ensures projects and systems are well-documented.
- Monitors application health and ensures all systems are stable and secure.
- Stays current with latest web technology, development tools and best practices.
- Works with the development team, oversees product backlogs and assigns tasks to junior members.
- Supports junior team members, monitors performance, and suggests improvements for growth.
Knowledge and Proficiencies:
- Exceptional working knowledge of website development techniques and practices.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages including C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and software development fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of Single Page Application (SPA) architecture and web page lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of the browser rendering process, DOM, Web APIs, and other browser technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex systems.
- Strong grasp of SCM concepts and experience using Git.
- Experience monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing code for SEO performance.
- Experience with Google platform tools, including Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Optimize.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure technology, such as Web Application Services; Logic Apps and network services a plus.
- Working knowledge of network protocols and API best practices.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies; experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proficient using Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Power Point)
