Healthy Start Coalition of Southwest Florida, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to reducing infant deaths and premature births as well as promoting health and developmental outcomes for babies and young children. We have served moms and babies in Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties since 1992. The Southwest Florida Healthy Start system of care includes Connect, Healthy Start, Help Me Grow, CAPTA, Nurse Family Partnership and the Southwest Florida Regional Diaper Bank programs.

Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate community member to serve as our Diaper Bank Coordinator. This is a detail-oriented position that also requires strong communication skills and an outgoing personality. You will be responsible for growing our Regional Diaper Bank and ensuring that diapers reach families in need by engaging diaper distribution partners, enrolling members, coordinating diaper drives, tracking orders and distribution and recruiting/overseeing a team of volunteers.

A successful applicant must be passionate about assisting families with babies and have a high degree of self-direction, initiative and flexibility. Some weekend and evening hours are required and you must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions · Work with management to set policies and procedures that streamline services for Diaper Bank Members and distribution sites, while ensuring adequate data is collected to measure impact · Engage community partners as diaper distribution sites · Train staff, distribution partners and volunteers on membership/distribution database · Train staff and/or volunteers on database to order and track diapers · Oversee and engage in enrolling Diaper Bank Members · Oversee and engage in receiving, sorting and storing large quantities of diapers and other essential baby supplies. · Schedule and provide an ongoing supply of diapers and supplies to distribution partners · Recruit, train and oversee volunteers to assist with all areas of diaper bank operations · Research, produce, collect and distribute educational materials for Diaper Bank Members · Receive diaper distribution logs from home visitors and ensures information is entered into database · Work closely with HS Outreach Team and management to engage the community with our mission and encourage donations of time and money · Participate in community events and presentations to educate and inform the public of diaper need and the value of our services · Coordinate and manage diaper drives
· Assist in implementing fundraising initiatives and the planning and execution of fundraising events.

Required Education/Experience

· High school diploma/GED required with a minimum of one year of experience in working with the public

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Excellent problem-solving, learning, and organizational skills

· Excellent computer and research skills

· Knowledgeable in essential business tools – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

· Knowledge of database system basics and accurate data entry

· Social media awareness

· Ability to work with diverse populations, including non-English speakers

· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, professionally, succinctly and effectively

· Ability to use reflective listening and motivational interviewing techniques

· Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

· Knowledge of and respect for confidentiality involving clients, stakeholders and fellow employees

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision

· Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple work assignments with attention to detail

· Ability to exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor

· Reliable transportation, license, clean driving record and automobile insurance required

· Passion for helping parents, babies and families in need

· A vision for changing poverty through relieving diaper need

· Knowledge of services supports and systems that serve children and families, particularly Florida’s system for early childhood services

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office, a warehouse, off-site venues and outside events areas in various weather conditions. This job includes the use of a pallet, jack, forklift and the ability to safely operate a large dual-wheeled cargo van. A CDL license is not required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copiers.

Essential Physical & Mental Requirements

Employee is subject to sitting, standing, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, walking, lifting, and carrying objects throughout daily job performance. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 60 pounds.. Requires talking, hearing and visual acuity to perform these major functions. Travel throughout our service area is required, with normal exposure to traffic hazards. Regular and reliable attendance required.

Employment Type
This is a full time position working 40 hours per week at $20 per hour. Includes Paid Time Off and Holidays, health, dental, vision and life insurance and 403b. Standard hours of operation are M-F 8:30am-5:00pm, though some early mornings, evenings and Saturdays are required.

This is a non-exempt position.
