JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an energetic Dietary Aide to join our growing team! The right candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to provide excellent customer service to our residents.

Sunday 5:30AM-1:30PM (Cook assistant)

Monday 5:30AM-1:30PM (Cook assistant)

Tuesday 5:00AM-1:00PM (Dietary aide)

Wednesday 5:00AM-1:00PM (Dietary aide)

This job will pay between $17.00-20.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
• Helps serve meals to residents from the kitchen on trayline.
• Transports hot and cold foods to the floor when needed.
• Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries
• Provides health center snacks and supplements per diet orders
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
• Maintains work stations in proper order
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items
• Ensures that orders match Physician’s diet orders
• As the cook assistant you will be responsible for making the daily desserts, salads,fruits, all to match the residents diet textures, serving next to the cook on tray line during meals, and helping the cook if needed. Others duties as assigned.
• As the dietary aide you will be responsible for setting up residents tray for meal service, making sandwiches, scooping foods, getting coffee carts ready for the floor each meal, preparing ice pitchers and shakes for nursing, passing carts,serving on tray line placing silverware, condiments, and other needed items onto trays and various others tasks. There is a lot of walking in this position.
• You have daily cleaning, helping to put away deliveries if needed, to be clean as you go.
• May be asked to work extra shifts if someone is sick.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
• Previous experience in nursing home food service needed.
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the eldery.
• Be able to work in hot or cool environment.
• Work well with others.
