THE POSITION
The firm seeks an experienced professional to spearhead the implementation of the technologies required to engage the digital asset ecosystem. That includes assessing the security and treasury management platforms of custody providers, the robustness of order and execution management systems, the safety of blockchain protocols and decentralized finance applications, and the integration of each into the firm’s operations.

Significant collaboration and technology skills are required to partner with technologists across the firm for deployment. The Digital Asset Infrastructure Technologist will be a key voice in assessing the capabilities of vendor applications and security protocols. This professional will require a deep understanding of blockchain technology and the expansive digital assets ecosystem including but not limited to crypto currencies, tokenization, DeFi, and NFTs. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge around custodial technology (hot wallet vs. cold wallet, MultiSig vs. MPC vs. TSS), API connectivity to exchanges and blockchains, smart contract auditing, and wallet key management. The target location for this role is Boston, but there may be flexibility for someone to live elsewhere provided they are willing to travel to our offices as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Digital Asset Infrastructure Technologist include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform initial and ongoing evaluations of the security and technological capabilities of custodial providers
  • Perform initial and ongoing evaluations of the security and technological capabilities of order and execution management systems
  • Act as a lead for any new installments, upgrades, or maintenance work needed for digital asset related platforms
  • Partner with trading and operations to help create workflow efficiencies through technology with an eye towards risk mitigation

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with a digital asset exchange, custody provider, or digital asset broker in a technology-oriented role
  • Experience and understanding of SOC reports
  • Experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python) and connecting to APIs
  • Experience with Solidity and smart contracts
  • Foundational knowledge in security topics such as Cryptography, Authentication/Authorization, Key sharding and management
  • Have a passion for the digital assets' ecosystem and the opportunities for the new technologies, change and innovation, it provides.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 65,000 - 150,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
