Overview:
The QC Technician will evaluate digital files for various platforms and end points as scheduled following client specifications.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Evaluating the quality and identifying errors in digital assets
- Describing the severity of issues in clear detail
- Confirming basic technical and client specifications
- Ensure that the overall integrity and quality of content (video, audio, subtitles, captions, etc.) adhere to standards as well as any additional client specific requirements
- Identify and document any encoding related artifacts as well as other video/audio anomalies including but not limited to the following:
- Digital hits, audio dropouts, artifacts, etc.
- Video or audio sync issues, localization discrepancies
- Interlacing as well as any other of conversion related issues
- Complete and submit QC reporting with details and accuracy in templated reports and/or business system
- Work with team leads or managers to address hardware/software concerns/upgrades as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in post-production services
- Prior tech or mastering QC experience required
- 4K and/or Atmos QC experiences preferred (not required)
- College education or equivalent professional experience required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
Key Results and Deliverables (What does success look like):
- Familiarity with basic film/video concepts, such as various file formats, standards, resolutions, frame rates, etc
- Experience with Final Cut/Premiere and/or other editing software recommended
- Clipster and Colorfront experience a plus
- Experience with digital video/audio encoding systems
- Experience with QA/QC systems and processes, including web-based applications
- Familiarity with video mastering and localization processes a plus
- Computer-literate (Windows/Mac, Excel, Word, web browser)
- Good organization skills and ability to manage heavy workload
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast pace, high growth, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong team player who can build strong relationships at all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal
