HERFF JONES, Digital Press Technician – Edwardsville, KS

SUMMARY : The Digital Press Technician is responsible for maintaining all the digital presses, training and leading employees on a daily basis, and overseeing production.

Work schedule:
Shift will rotate every few weeks to align with business needs. The ideal candidate will be able to work ALL of the following shifts on a rotating basis:

7:00 am -3:00 pm, 3:00 pm- 11:00 pm, AND 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

What We Want You To Accomplish:

• Learn department and Herff Jones standards for maintaining workflow and quality
• Complete all scheduled maintenance on digital presses
• Become familiar with all digital press manuals
• Maintain an up-to-date maintenance record for all digital presses

What You’ll Do On A Daily Basis:

• Operate and maintain multiple presses in a shift
• Check for type flow and image quality.
• Print PDF files for entire book
• Quality check every job (book, commercial, or cover) that comes off the press.
• Scans out job through YBS and sign-out sheet and deliver to the Bindery
• Create and print variable data jobs
• Assist in meeting work quota
• Communicate with all employees including other shifts
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist operators during their machine downtime
• Fill in for an operator that has called out for their shift
• Order and maintain supplies for all presses
• Assist in the training of new hires
• Come in or assist operators over the phone during off shift hours

What You'll Bring To The Table:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Xerox and HP Manuals, XPP report, Routing Guides, Order Confirmation Sheets (OCS), work orders, and Production Control Expediters (PCE).
• Experience as a technician on a HP and/or Xerox digital press
