Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We have an immediate opening for a Digital Services Specialist in our* St. Louis, MO *office. This position is fully onsite.
The Digital Services Specialist serves as the digital image expert within the Information Governance department. Under minimal supervision, the Specialist performs complex tasks involving the use of high-volume production multi-function devices and occasionally supports the other departmental functions as necessary. Essential job functions include:

  • Complete various scan/print/copy projects using high-volume production MFDs
  • Format, prepare, scan and reassemble original documents to include; conversion of files into various formats as required, perform OCR on images to make searchable, conversion to an editable format, and various binding options
  • Create complex PDF documents by using bookmarks and links
  • Perform quality control checks on jobs including image quality, job alignment, completeness
  • Search and print documents from the Document Management System
  • Index, store, retrieve electronic documents on mass storage devices, network drives, and document management system
  • Assess, prioritize, and manage workflow by evaluating service request volume and complexity with the assistance of the Supervisor
  • Diagnose and correct scan/print/copy image quality problems
  • Troubleshoot electronic document transfer and retrieval issues
  • Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment; escalate and track tickets to internal resources and external vendor support
  • Adhere to safety/security procedures to ensure document security and confidentiality
  • Clean and stock department supplies as necessary
  • Assist walk-in customers, answer incoming department phone calls and monitor the department email account
  • Perform other jobs and duties as may be required from time-to-time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical activity of this position:
  • Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive Motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The physical requirements of this position:
  • Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision:
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position:
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 2-year degree preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years’ relevant experience required; 1-2 years in a production document processing environment preferred. 1 year relevant experience if completed additional education past high school.
  • Previous law firm copying/scanning/printing experience or knowledge of legal document processing preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including technical familiarity with printing, imaging, network systems, internet/intranet issues, Microsoft operating systems, and applications.
  • Very strong communication skills, both written and oral, and be extremely responsive, customer service oriented, committed to quality and deadline driven.
  • Strong attention to detail, outstanding organizational skill, a high degree of concentration, patience, professionalism and the ability to multi-task, all within a fast-paced, rapidly expanding and evolving work environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding judgment and excellent decision making to meet and exceed customer expectations.
