Person First is in need of part-time, seasonal and full-time Mentors/Direct Support Professionals.

Our agency is currently hiring Direct Support Professionals to work with children and young adults with special needs. Our mentors provide support to children/adults in the Coulee Region as well as group home settings.

The supports are tailored to each individual child and may include mentoring in their home, school, community or at our recreation/education center, "The Zone". Person First also offers group homes for children/young adults in both LaCrosse and Holmen.

The Zone is located in Galesville, WI on 40 acres off the Black River. The Zone offers many outdoor and indoor activities for both you and the children you support to enjoy.

We offer professional training and education based around the supports needed of the children we serve. Person First is a growing company in the Coulee Region with a successful reputation for fostering and helping children to teach their full potential while developing lasting relationships among community members and our employees.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with special needs by using evidence based approaches to meet their goals and objectives
• Work independently and as a team to support your participants
• Logging and documentation of supports provided
• Communication with care team and social workers regarding participants supports

Job Requirements

• High school degree, or equivalent
• Experience and/or continued education with special needs and children is preferred but not required

• Familiarity with our industry is a plus
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid Drivers license

• Vehicle inspection, as well as use of personal vehicle, with mileage paid, and willingness to transport participants is a must
• Basic computer skills and access to home computer with internet

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
