University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis is currently looking for an experienced Alumni Engagement Director to implement programming for alumni and its relationships with the council, the University and its students, and community. The alumni engagement director works in our advancement unit reporting to the assistant vice president for advancement and will manage staff and coordinate volunteers (alumni and students).

In this role, you will get to:

  • Serve as a University liaison with the Alumni Council. Responsibilities include attending board meetings, overseeing the preparation of agendas and reports and planning.
  • Serve as Future Alumni Council adviser - prepare their agendas and plan their activities
  • Develop and implement programs to engage alumni, encourage participation with the University and fulfill other goals set by the Council, including coordinating logistical arrangements, both on campus and offsite, facility and menu negotiations, signing of contracts, site inspections and security and floor plan design. Responsible for establishing tracking methods for reservations and generating timely registration reports for all events in coordination with the Alumni Engagement Coordinator (currently vacant) and Database Administrator/Prospect Researcher.
  • Coordinate post-event evaluations and surveys and follow up.
  • Represent the Advancement Office and the Alumni Council at various meetings and functions.
  • Secure alumni volunteers and steward their efforts in support of the Alumni Council and the University.
  • Secure and oversee student volunteers at alumni events.
  • Manage alumni committees.
  • Organize and travel to University receptions during annual pharmacy meetings throughout U.S.
  • Develop and maintain proper recognition of alumni on campus.
  • Responsible for preparing budget for Alumni Council
  • Work with marketing to maintain the Alumni Web site, social media sites, email announcements and e-newsletters
  • Oversee alumni event and program marketing pieces from writing stage to final production.
  • Attends professional meetings
  • Carry a portfolio of donors for volunteer engagement and donor cultivation.
  • Other duties as assigned

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelors degree with at least 3 years of experience in alumni relations or equivalent related experience in university development, event management, public relations, or public administration.
  • Ability to work well with others and be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others.
  • Excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to plan and conduct business meetings and presentations.
  • Ability and experience supervising others.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
