ConMet has an exciting new Director, Engineering Systems opportunity at our corporate office overlooking the Columbia River in Vancouver, WA.

The Director, Engineering Systems provides leadership for ConMet’s PLM and engineering process teams, bringing current knowledge and future vision to drive Engineering digital transformation and optimization efforts. As a key member of the senior Engineering leadership team, this role is responsible for setting strategic direction for Engineering processes and digital systems, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall business strategy and positioning the Engineering Systems team to deliver compelling business value.

Key Accountabilities

• Works closely with VP, Engineering and engineering leadership to set and execute the mission, vision, and strategy of the Engineering Systems organization to maximize the success of the business and Engineering digital enterprise initiatives.
• Introduces innovative, differentiating Engineering digital solutions that enhance the company’s overall competitive capabilities.
• Responsible for driving adoption of digital Engineering technologies to increase workforce digital dexterity and productivity, with initial focus on PLM system using Siemens Teamcenter
• Collaborates with engineering leadership to define, set, implement and maintain engineering processes, such as APQP and ECN processes, to maximize accuracy, throughput, visibility, transparency and accountability.
• Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, acquisition, and support of Engineering digital solutions that fulfill the needs of the business, maintaining currency on new technologies and platforms.
• Develops strategic licensing roadmap and oversees and maintains licensing terms, renewals, and negotiations for existing and new Engineering systems, including but not limited to: Siemens engineering suite (NX, Femap, Teamcenter), Autodesk engineering suite, Altair suite, Actify Spinfire, PTC Creo, Catia, etc.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to the Engineering Systems team, including hiring, recruitment and development of talent. Proactively engages with team for meaningful development planning and execution.
• Maintains focus on the optimum user experience, playing a key role in the establishment and execution of an Engineering digital workplace strategy that ensures employees have the best digital tools to be engaged, productive, and effective.
• Collaborates with IT Infrastructure, Operations & Security teams to ensure Engineering digital solutions perform well in production and are effectively secure and risks are mitigated.
• Develops and controls annual operating and capital expenditure budget to ensure it is consistent with overall Engineering objectives and is within plan.
• Ensures best practices are followed for business continuity and disaster recovery planning, as it relates to Engineering systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (with area of study in Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields preferred). Note: Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree who have 10+ years of progressive Engineering systems experience may also be considered for specific openings.
• 8+ years of experience in Engineering systems, including but not limited to, PLM systems, APQP processes and CAD systems.
• 5+ years in a leadership/management role.
• Experience managing enterprise licensing agreements/programs highly desirable.
