The Director Facility Infrastructure & Safety is responsible for strategic oversight of the administrative, operations and finance functions of areas which include: Engineering & Maintenance, Facilities Management, Fleet Management, Grounds Keeping, to achieve optimal operation of each of these assigned activities. This position has responsibility for maintaining requirements around the LEED platinum status and implementing some projects related to supporting the organization sustainability program. General responsibilities are: customer interface to ensure operational needs met; oversight of facilities; oversight of finances to include both capital and expense budgets for the areas of oversight; oversight of personnel resources to include hiring and firing decisions; oversight of adherence to regulatory requirements; development and implementation of quality indicators and dashboards to measure outcomes; collaboration with SHC General Services and other hospital departments to meet strategic needs. This position oversees hospital, as well as some off-site facilities (1.1M sf).
Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
Develops and implements metrics and/ or dashboard as appropriate to measure outcomes.
Ensures all departments and systems are assessed on a monthly, quarterly, yearly basis as assigned for facility issues
Develops and implements a long-range infrastructure plan looking out over 7-10 years. Updates the plan on a yearly basis. Aligns this plan with the long-range financial plan for the organization.
Directs department operational financial/budget activity from planning to preparation to execution to obtaining funding as appropriate.
Coordinates applicable construction projects to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements-ICRA, PICRA, ILS etc and other regulatory requirements.
Responsible for coordinating with SHC on construction projects impacting SCH. Ensures staff and leaders are aware of the impacts. Coordinates follow-up with SHC on pneumatic tube issues.
Works with managers and supervisors to ensure implementation of standard work.
Develops and monitors department adherence to MEP and Interiors standards for the organization
Monitors projects to ensure they stay on budget and schedule.
Interfaces with customers on a regular basis to stay abreast of support issues and assure operational needs met. Incorporate needs assessments into strategic planning and implementation. Develop and implement feedback tool to measure satisfaction.
Oversees adherence and compliance to regulations, laws and codes using the appropriate technological tools to manage and measure.
Develops policies and procedures, revises the policies as needed and submits them for review on a timely basis. Oversees adherence to Stanford Children¿s Health policies and procedures.
Oversees management and administration of service contracts pertaining to the director¿s area of scope for adherence to all terms and conditions.
Oversees personnel management to include hire/fire; employee engagement; growth/contraction strategies and resource allocation. Ensures 24-hour coverage for key services.
Collaborates with the Director of Sustainability and other stakeholders in to ensure areas under the director¿s scope are participating in and contributing to the Sustainability Program, including any actions needed to maintain requirements for LEED status.
Participates in various other committees to include but not be limited to Capital, EHS, organization- wide disaster preparedness committee and Employee Safety Council and others as assigned.
Maintains Key Performance Indicators that measure performance and efficiencies of each of the departments based on internal standards of care, customer service, employee engagement and external regulatory requirements. Works with departments to create department dashboards and viz walls(virtual or in person)
Ensures completion of schedule projects within budget, on schedule and meeting all program objectives and appropriate governmental regulations (title 22, HCAi, TJC, CDPH).
Provide analyses, recommendations, decision support, and project management for a broad array of issues in the areas of work redesign, continuous process improvement and planning as related to the facility projects. Ensures compliance with all regulations (Joint Commission, Title 22/24,NFPA etc.
Assures efficient use of resources for development of materials, selection of vendors and overall processes.
Develops, implements, and oversees an incident investigation process, including use of root cause analysis or similar tools to identify incident corrective actions and ensure closure of those actions. Able to utilize Lean Tools for problem-solving e.g., A3
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university, Masters in Business or related field preferred.
Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in engineering or related environments including experience managing HCAi regulations. At least 2 years experience in leadership in facilities or engineering management.
License/Certification: Valid California Driver's License

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $151,590.40 to $201,000.80
