The Director of Hotel Finance and Accounting is responsible for the overall quality of the accounting, supporting financial reporting, performance measurement and preparation of management reports, including cash flow forecasting and other analysis for Hospitality Fund assets. This involves all aspects of the real estate investment cycle from acquisition, implementation of business plans, large scale renovations, oversight of third-party management reporting, development of internal budgets, investment reporting and cash management up to the fund level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for each investment including cash flow forecasting, cash management, valuations, as well as investment reporting at a Fund level. Includes Fund liquidity, projected cash requirements, cash calls, etc.
  • Monthly reporting to lenders and investors as required.
  • Perform and direct periodic in-depth audits of asset operating statements, cash balances, and internal expense allocations.
  • Plan and oversee fund level operating budget for SCP Hotel Fund and future investment vehicles.
  • Review and assess financial impacts of vendor contracts and internal resources, including ROI analysis on proposed and in place initiatives.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for the senior management, investment committee, investors, and lenders working with the investor relations and hotel teams.
  • Participate in the acquisitions process with responsibility to approve operating projections and due diligence assumptions.
  • Coordinate acquisition transitions with responsibility for banking and operational accounting functions.
  • Support hospitality asset management activities, including repositioning strategies, refinancing, and dispositions

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Interacting with senior management, company peers, and outside consultants & subcontractors in a cohesive positive manner.
  • Attends management development meetings and training as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Managing Principals which are necessary for the continued operation of the company.
  • Represents the company at public affairs events and builds goodwill for the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience Requirements: (including certifications, licenses, etc.):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Field
  • 10+ years’ previous hospitality accounting or finance experience
  • CPA (preferred)
  • Hotel Finance and Accounting including hotel department practices, operating performance evaluation, implementation of change initiatives, financial modeling, and cash management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the market dynamics impacting short- and long-term planning.
  • Prior hospitality experience required.
  • Aptitude for financial reporting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Ability to positively represent the company with customers, vendors, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to use subject matter expertise to support the executive team and assist the company in making sound business decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Highly skilled in Excel
  • Able to navigate multiple property management and reporting systems.
