Job description
This HR Generalist position has solid pay with outstanding benefits creating a total compensation amount between $85,000 and $100,000. Normal working hours with some flexibility for work from home gives you the work/life balance you need. Preference will be given to those with HRCI or SHRM certification. Minimum of 2 years direct HR experience required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB TASKS
1. 30%
HR Consultant to the Executive and Management Team, and Board of Directors and on a fee basis for other telecommunication companies for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies, developing risk management strategies and maximizing employee satisfaction. Tasks may include workforce planning, compliance with local, state and national laws, employee training, discipline, policy development and enforcement, liability and property insurance claims management, all-employee communication and general employee relations. Assist with Strategic Planning.
Monitored by the Chief Executive Officer through regular update meetings and Executive Team and employee feedback.
2. 30%
Manages HR Department for the purpose of ensuring the company operates as effectively and is legally compliant. Task may include writing, interpreting and enforcing company policies, prepare and monitor department budget, forecast human resource needs, coordinate the hiring process including job posting, recruiting, designing and placing ads, networking to solicit candidates, preparing and revising position descriptions, arranging interview appointments, preparing interview questions, conducting interviews, maintaining records, prepare offers, sending out correspondence regarding declinations, offers, severance, etc. Develop and maintain an effective performance review process including training managers and staff on effective performance reviews, analyzing annual pay increase formula, process bonuses, when necessary, provide employees with annual total benefit package summary. Develop and maintain compensation plan including researching and preparing salary recommendations, coordinating salary surveys and planning for outliers. Ensure proper disciplinary action process is followed and CEO is kept informed. Conduct annual training for HR compliance including Sexual Harassment, conducts oversight of any Workman’s Compensation and/or Long Term Disability or FMLA claims. Additionally, may need to complete reports, maintain sick leave and vacation records, and maintain employee files. Monitored by reviewing reports and through meetings with the Chief Executive Officer.
3. 15%
Payroll and Benefit Oversight for the purpose of accurately paying of staff and meeting all regulatory requirements associated with payroll and ensuring attractive and cost-effective benefit plans. Provide supervision of Benefit Specialist. Tasks may include research on payroll issues, oversight of 941 filing and other tax related responsibilities, oversight of bill payments, W2 distribution, acquiring bids for benefit coverage, developing strategies for cost containment, reviewing benefits costs against budget, reviewing utilization, contacting benefits providers to troubleshoot employee issues, education of employees on benefits and access to care, maintaining employee files, determine contractual arrangements with providers and broker. Monitored by the Chief Executive Officer through regular update meetings and Executive Team and employee feedback.
4. 10%
Manages Safety Compliance Oversees Health and Safety committee and ensures compliance for TCT and all subsidiaries on safety standards. Tasks may include writing, interpreting, and enforcing safety policies and procedures. Provides safety training. Maintains OSHA 30 logs. Provides all necessary documentation and reporting for DOT. Determines contractual arrangements with providers and vendors. Maintains accident and near miss log for the purpose of determining effective means of preventing injuries. Assist with development and maintenance of business continuity plan for disaster preparedness. Monitored by the Chief Executive Officer through regular update meetings and Executive Team, employee, vendor, and customer feedback.
5. 15%
Staff Training Develop and implement Supervisor and Employee Training programs for both compliance and organizational effectiveness. Task may include develop and implement leadership training for staff, manage employee orientation and oversee department orientation/job training. identifying and providing necessary company-wide training, identifying employee development opportunities, providing management coaching, develop and implement cross-training, retraining, outside training, career development or other effective means of maximizing staff and their talents and knowledge while working with department managers to have seamless and cost-effective coverage. Administers the Employee Education Assistance program. Monitored by the Chief Executive Officer through regular update meetings and Executive Team, employee and customer feedback.
