The Role will be responsible for leading InComm Payments Healthcare Compliance organization as we continue to expand our healthcare line of business and subsequent regulatory landscape. This leader is a strategic thinker with proven industry experience in evaluating and maturing healthcare compliance/compliance programs, and interacting with, and responding to, regulatory partners – including the government and CMS, and health plan sponsors. This person should also have exceptional skills with managing compliance programs across a variety of technologies, geographies, and industry frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Lead InComm’s Healthcare Compliance team and program.- Grow and implement the strategic direction for organization-wide healthcare compliance.
- Identify risk and improve processes and outcomes across our many healthcare programs and operational departments.
- Interpret legislation or pending legislation related to healthcare compliance, including CMS, HITRUST, HIPAA, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it relates to Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Map regulations and requirements to business scenarios addressing program governance, and the transmission, storage, retrieval, and protection of information assets or technology systems
- Develop strategies for ensuring organizational compliance with HITRUST, HIPAA, Privacy and Security rules and similar healthcare regulations and common security frameworks.
- Develop strategies and oversee operational monitoring of the Healthcare Compliance Program.
- Develop a program and supporting processes for the continual monitoring of compliance against HITRUST, HIPAA, CMS and other common healthcare security frameworks.
- Oversee performance of internal program risk assessments. Manage issues tracking and management through remediation, including self-identified issues, management action plans, and corrective action plans
- Establish and mature organization’s policies, procedures, and standards for healthcare compliance
- Work cross-functionally to track documentation of healthcare audits and assessments, their findings, and actions taken for remediation.
- Provide timely, accurate and appropriate-level program status to executives.
- Lead and direct the work of other employees. Duties may include hiring, professional development, performance management, and termination.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate healthcare compliance and security related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with all IT teams on security-related incidents, tasks and projects.
- Ability to work productively while remote and communicate effectively in a virtual team environment.
- Ability to stay current with new healthcare regulations, frameworks, controls and requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in Medicare, Medicaid (CMS) and healthcare compliance.
- Demonstrated working Knowledge of CMS Chapter 21 regulatory guidelines and health plan sponsor contract and BAA review processes.
- Expertise in HITRUST, HIPAA and similar regulations and Common Security Frameworks (CSF)
- In depth knowledge of detailed HITRUST control requirements and experience defining processes and technologies to meet applicable controls.
- Experience synthesizing laws, regulations, contracts, and working with auditors, certification entities and regulators.
- Demonstrated ability to identify areas of compliance gaps and risk and design and implement a course of corrective action.
- Working expertise in problem/situational analysis.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities with implementing and overseeing an enterprise Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) program as it relates to Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Experience working with an external health plan’s compliance team, and the ability to interpret Federal and State laws as they relate to Medicare and Medicaid and other healthcare regulations.
- 5+ years’ experience in compliance and/or regulatory control environments.
- 3+ leadership experience in compliance and/or regulatory control environments.
- 3+ leadership experience in compliance and/or regulatory control environments.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Compliance, Healthcare, Business Administration, or another related field is preferred, but not required.
- A Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP) certification or other similar compliance related certification(s) are preferred, but not required. Upon hire you will be required to create a Career Development Plan to include receiving and maintaining certifications applicable to this position.
