Nealy Pierce has been engaged by a leading, multi-campus health system in the Southeast US to conduct a search for a Lab Director to join their team. In this role, you will serve as the strategic leader for the hospital’s lab services department.

• Position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer

About the Lab Director position:

• Provide the strategic direction of the hospital's lab services department that performed over 120,000 annual tests last year, across inpatient and outpatient services
• Plan, organize and direct the overall operations of the departments, ensure the safest, most effective quality of patient care
• Manage and mentor a team of ~13 FTE's and report directly to a collaborative and inspirational Chief Nursing Officer
• P & L and budgetary responsibility
• Ensure regulatory compliance with CLIA and CAP standards
• Provide guidance, problem solve and mentor and develop staff

Requirements of the Lab Director:

• MT (ASCP) required
• Minimum one (1) year Laboratory Supervisor or Manager experience in an acute care hospital required
• Minimum three (3) years Laboratory experience required
• Clinical background in Microbiology, Serology, Molecular, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunohematology preferred
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to create and ensure long term positive relationships across all levels including staff, physicians, system leadership, and key stakeholders
