BSA is an extensive health system providing clinical excellence to the Texas Panhandle and the tri-state area. Our health system is part of a larger organization, Nashville-based Ardent Health Services. Ardent Health Services includes 30 hospitals and more than 200 sites of care.
We have an exciting opportunity to join BSA as a Director, Materials Management.

POSITION SUMMARY*
The Director, Materials Management will lead and manage all aspects of the Hospital’s Materials Management function: supply chain services, purchasing, inventory control, product flow, contracts, vendor relationships, recalls, and surplus property. Through competitive procurement strategies, maximization of group purchasing opportunities, skilled contract negotiation, and best practice supply and inventory management, the Director will assure that goods and services are acquired at the lowest cost consistent with organizational standards for quality and service. The Director is an integral part of the Hospital’s leadership team and is expected to demonstrate a collaborative leadership style focused on service excellence and support of organizational goals and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day management of supply chain operations and personnel: receiving, inventory management, supply distribution, storage and stocking.
- Management of competitive, best value procurement
- Contract negotiation and management
- Management and leadership of departmental staff to assure adherence to service excellence standards, foster teamwork and collaboration, and promote employee satisfaction and growth.
- Development and management of annual departmental operating budget and coordination of organizational annual capital budget
- Leadership of value analysis and product standards programs
- Representation of Hospital in group purchasing organization activities at regional and national level
- Compliance with all accreditation and regulatory organizations and agencies
Qualifications: Education and Licenses:
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Bachelor Degree Preferred
- Valid Driver's License required
- Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years hospital supply chain management experience
- 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
