WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We have an opportunity for a Director of Metadata Operations to lead all aspects of the execution and delivery of metadata to our enterprise. We are looking for someone focused on running operations, creating efficiencies, delivery of data, and developing a team of taxonomist/ontologists and metadata specialists. We need someone who is passionate about supporting Nike's Consumer Direct Acceleration (CDA) as we digitally transform Nike, we are also transforming Nike Global Technology, bringing a relentless focus on delivery, adoption, process change and value realization. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
You are responsible for the day to day operations of the Enterprise Metadata & MDM team at Nike including metadata creation and syndication as well as the management of taxonomists, ontologists, & metadata specialists. The Director of Metadata Operations will work closely with information science experts to operationalize the metadata & MDM strategy including the extension of taxonomy, ontology, and metadata structures to support Nike Inc. as well as the vital standards, processes, & governance to support the operation. This director will lead ongoing operational efficiencies to mature metadata operations and scale metadata delivery to enterprise customers.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
You will be a part of the Metadata & Master Data Management team and report to the Sr. Director of Metadata & MDM. You will partner with stakeholders from various business organizations throughout Nike including Nike Direct, Global Technology, Consumer Insights & Insights, Consumer Creation Operations, Global Brand Production, and Global Supply Chain to ensure that semantic structures accurately represent specialized business knowledge and are in line with overall metadata strategy. You will closely collaborate with engineering to triage and fix taxonomy & ontology data issues as well as partner with leaders in information science to deliver taxonomy data solutions to end consumers.

• Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience with operationalizing taxonomy/ontology/metadata strategy

• Experience with taxonomy and ontology standards, processes, and technologies, and governance

• Deep expertise in metadata operations & ability to deliver metadata to the enterprise at scale

• Expertise in handling competing priorities and ability to prioritize unplanned and planned work

• Experience working with multi-functional teams to deliver metadata

• Highly organized with the ability to think quickly and problem-solve

• Remote Work Option - open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

For employees based in Colorado, this position has an annual base salary range of $163,000 - $269,500.

For employees based in NYC and Westchester County, NY, this position has an annual base salary range of $193,500 - $321,000.
