Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Director of Behavioral Health Nursing is responsible for Mission and Values implementation, operational leadership and direction of assigned departments. Is responsible for assigned services for performance planning and improvement; clinical quality; fiscal and service results; and patient, customer, and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Advocates for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions and institutions and organizations, especially related to health and safety.
- Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current practice.
- Collaborates with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders. - Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.
- Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.
- Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration, and the delivery of services.
- Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statues, rules and regulations.
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
- Integrates research findings into practice.
- Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- BLS Certification
- Registerd Nurse in State of Kansas
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- 5+ years of supervisory and/or management experience required
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Professional Nursing Certification preferred
- 3+ years behavioral health experience preferred
