Basic Position Summary – To assist the company in recruiting new opportunities and managing relationships to ensure that the company is successfully positioned to capture projects within its markets. The primary focus area will be in the Upstate area of South Carolina.

Responsibilities/Functions

• Networking – the most important aspect of Business Development is to build and maintain a solid network of relationships with clients (past, current, and prospective), influencers, and industry partners. Through those relationships, you can then:
• Identify new opportunities that align with McCrory s desired markets
• Identify opportunities for additional business with existing clients
• Communicate internally and externally in all stages of project development with estimating and project management
• Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve problems with clients if needed
• Participate actively in industry and civic organizations to promote corporate citizenship
• Assist with monitoring over all forecasting and pipeline to ensure long-term company health
• Assist with collaborating on bids/proposals that are prepared for projects
• Other duties as assigned by management that may relate to sales and marketing

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor s degree in business, marketing, or related field
• Five years of progressively responsible experience working in Business Development (Background in Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Design or Engineering is a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a two-to-three-year time span
• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with minimal direction
• Excellent people and business skills; strong customer service orientation; high energy level
• Requires computer proficiency (typical Microsoft Office products)
• CRM proficiency with Salesforce is a plus
• Computer skills in Adobe design products, also a plus
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide cross-section of individuals and personalities
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Must be able to regularly walk up stairs
• Must be able to drive
