JOB TITLE: Director of Business Development
DEPARTMENT: Sales
JOB STATUS: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $70,000-$100,000/yearly (Salary is based on education and years of experience.)
REPORTS TO: Sr VP of Sales
DIRECT REPORTS: Yes

JOB SUMMARY:
North American Services Inc is looking for a Director of Business Development. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with customers and prospects by exploring opportunities that require transportation solutions. This position will also conduct market research and prepare sales forecasts, sales plans, and individual sales quotas.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Maintain relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance.
  • Pursue new opportunities, identify service improvements, and implement profit enhancements.
  • Identify and build relationships with all decision makers, key contacts, and stakeholders during and after the sales process.
  • Leverage all external and internal partners to generate sales pipeline and enhance sales opportunities with both new and existing accounts.
  • Interpret and evaluate pricing and contracts to ensure proper adherence, mitigate exposure, and eliminate risk, while achieving expected profit margins.
  • Communicates with each sales representative on a regular basis to ensure that customers’ needs are being met.
  • Obtains the support of customer decision makers by applying logistics expertise to anticipate and solve their transportation challenges.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, organization, communication (written and verbal), and can be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 3+ years' experience in strategic LTL operations within the freight industry. Prior management experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to influence, demonstrate sound business judgement
