We are seeking experienced Director of Engineering to run the maintenance/engineering department. MUST BE WILLING TO LIVE IN ESTES PARK, COLORADO

The Director of Engineering will manage the operation and administration of the Maintenance and Engineering Department to ensure all hotel structures, furnishings, and equipment are optimally functional and aesthetically pleasing.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises, develops and maintains an ongoing maintenance operation for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, guestrooms, VAC units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
  • Assists in preparing annual budget; monitors achievement of budget and takes corrective steps as appropriate. Performs work within departmental expense plans.
  • Manages the inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control of all supplies.
  • Creates work schedules and estimates staff members hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Perform daily audits to ensure quality standards are consistently met. Inspects projects, rooms, public space and back-of-the house areas continually.
  • Interprets specifications, job orders, and company policies to staff members and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, recommends measures to improve production.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists staff members in solving work problems.
  • Manages the full preventative maintenance plan for the building and all physical assets to maximize life expectancy.
  • Works closely with department managers to ensure coordination of activities.
  • Meets with contractors to discuss design plans, contacts contractors to submit bids for new construction, and meets with construction supervisors to discuss different phases of work.
  • Practices safe work habits and ensures safe work practices to avoid injury to self and others. Responsible for the proper training of the associates on safety, OSHA, EPA, HASMAT, Asbestos awareness, Blood-born pathogens, Right To Know law and ADA law.
  • Recommends or initiates staff member actions, such as training, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • Participate in the hiring process of new staff members.
  • Communicates performance expectations and provides staff members with on-going feedback
  • Provides staff members with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and their fullest potential.

EXPERIENCE

· 5+ years experience as Chief Engineer managing hotels

· 5+ years managing extensive grounds/landscaping

· General knowledge of repairing/replacing plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, refrigeration and all kitchen equipment.

  • Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance and correct chemical balance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
