South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. Using television, radio and the web, SCETV's mission is to enrich lives by educating children, informing and connecting citizens, celebrating our culture and environment and instilling the joy of learning. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.

Job Purpose:
This position plans, produces and directs multi-platform fundraising campaigns and other membership activities for SCETV and SC Public Radio. Individual must implement industry best practices outlined by the Public Broadcasting Service, National Public Radio, Greater Public and others. This position will coordinate closely with individuals across departments, and with the ETV Endowment, to achieve overall membership program goals, grow constituent engagement, and increase financial support from audiences served. Position is responsible for supervising the Fundraising Division personnel and facilitating appropriate budgets, contracts and invoices.

Job Duties:
Plans and oversees all aspects of agency fundraising efforts for television to include planning multi-channel pledge drive program schedules and outside of pledge drive appeal opportunities with the TV Programming Division, initiating ticket partnerships and special events, scripting/producing pre-recorded breaks and local pledge programs to encourage donations. Delegating when appropriate, script and/or request spots from national/local talent for pledge campaigns and year-round interstitial appeals. Assures timely production and delivery of recorded local pledge programs and appeals for campaigns. Oversees divisional responsibilities on closed captioning, thank you gift selection, graphic design, pledge record downloads and web/social media efforts for campaigns with appropriate staff. Produces and supervises live, local pledge shifts in studio. Works with the ETV Endowment to coordinate promotional efforts, when appropriate.

In consultation with the Radio Programming Division, plans pledge schedules/determines staffing on two FM channels, initiates ticket partnerships and scripts/produces pre-recorded programs, when required. Oversees divisional responsibilities on thank you gift selection, graphic design, pledge record downloads and web/social media efforts for campaigns with appropriate staff. Produces and oversees live, local pledge events in studio. Works with the ETV Endowment to coordinate promotional efforts, when appropriate. Delegating when appropriate, request spots from national and local talent, produce pledge drive promos and thank you spots. Produces and supervises live pledge shifts, when required. Works with the ETV Endowment to coordinate promotional efforts, when appropriate.

Supervises, trains, and evaluates Fundraising Division personnel. Oversees overall department budget and specific project budgets, staying within allocated resources. Facilitates division contracts and invoices. With the ETV Endowment, sets the yearly overall Membership program goals. Works collaboratively with Production Division, Programming Division and other agency staff assigned to fundraising projects, delegating when appropriate.

Stays abreast of and incorporates the latest trends in pledge program selection/scheduling and membership development initiatives. Adheres to best practices set forth by TRAC Media, Greater Public, NPR, PBS, and other industry organizations. Accesses and discerns relevant research data from assorted resources to inform decision making. Delegating when appropriate, assures the completion of required reports by the established deadlines.

Provides customer service and responds to member queries. Acts as the liaison between agency departments to facilitate pledge campaigns and special events, achieving results and maintaining positive relationships. Collaborates with the ETV Endowment on the success of the overall membership program. Provides input on television content acquisitions for the regular schedule to determine feasibility for pledge. Initiates special membership and program-related events including special guest appearances, ticket and Meet & Greet opportunities and other occasions, as suitable opportunities present themselves.


Bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
