Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Assistant Program Director responsibilites include:
  • Providing Human Resources leadership to the School of Public Health.
  • Advising senior leadership on human resource policy and procedures.
  • Providing analysis, research, and recommendations to the Dean on matters involving equity, human resources, staff hiring, on-boarding, etc.
  • Supporting SPHL units in complicated hiring, appointments, and retention ensuring financial approval is properly obtained.
  • Creating and maintaining a professional development training program for staff, in order to ensure ongoing success in supporting the College mission.
  • Ensuring staff and faculty are adequately prepared for the ERP transition, in terms of professional training and potential duty reorganization and reassignment.
  • Providing daily support to HR operations, both within the Dean’s Office and to SPHL units. Responsible for the review and approval of Concur and procurement requests in SPHL.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience:
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in payroll, human resources, etc., in a higher education setting.
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends for regular reports.
  • Experience teaching and training all levels of employee (exempt and nonexempt staff, TTK and PTK faculty, leadership, etc.)


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of State and Federal regulations relating to human resources, and the ability to analyze and provide guidance on those regulations.

Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Master’s Degre.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with sponsored projects and the related regulations.
  • Well-organized, highly motivated, can keep multiple projects and responsibilities current, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and strong critical thinking skills (especially in situations where no clear precedent exists).
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Candidates with previous experience implementing Workday HCM are highly sought.
