Position Summary


The Director of Instructional Delivery will be part of the leadership team in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review, and evaluation of the Care Management curriculum at Coordinated Care Alliance of New York.


The Director of Instructional Delivery will support the organizations’ mission and services by providing leadership in the delivery of the training curriculum via the training Institute. The position will support the enhancement and development of I/DD workforce programs that address the needs of the future within a climate that emphasizes learning and creativity using the key elements of adult learning theory. The position will support multiple instructional design options and learning methodologies (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, blended and in person training delivered by experienced facilitators) leading to creative and innovative trainings that will support staff in aligning to meet organizational objectives.


The Director of Instructional Delivery will report to the Vice President of Learning and Development and will collaborate closely with Director of Instructional Design, Instructional design experts and Instructional trainers, who promote the organizations’ mission and services by providing leadership and exceptional training to the workforce via the training Institute.


Coordinated Care Alliance of New York (CCA/NY) a Management Service Organization is the parent company of two agencies, Advance Care Alliance of NY (ACA/NY) and LIFEPlan COO of NY. Both ACA/NY and LIFEPlan have been designated as Care Coordination Organizations/Health Homes (CCOs) by New York State. A CCO (Care Coordination Organization) is a Health Home dedicated to meeting the needs of people with I/DD by providing comprehensive care management and coordination of services. Through CCA/NY, the organizations serve a combined 44,000 members throughout forty-five counties in NY State. They share a mission to provide quality services and enhanced advocacy statewide for individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with the leadership of Learning and Development to develop actions plans and manage work plans, to achieve strategic initiatives.

  • At the direction of Vice President of Learning and Development consult with staff at all levels (from care managers to Care management leadership) across the organizations to understand underlying issues and to define performance and organizational objectives.

  • Uses strong project management/leadership to drive initiatives from conception to evaluation.

  • Uses multiple instructional design options and learning methodologies (e.g., classroom, online, blended, distance learning methods) leading to creative and innovative solutions.

  • Networks with external companies and vendors to stay abreast of emerging learning technologies and solutions for instructional delivery.

  • In courses where online discussion forums are used, monitors discussion forums for participant comments, and respond to the comments on the forums.

  • Works with the Registrar and VP of Learning and Development to handle many of the programs' logistical arrangements which includes tracking class registration, preparing class invitations and sending promotional emails. Edit class websites and coordinate logistics for WebEx courses as well as distribute and track compliance of participant feedback surveys.

  • Produces/hosts distance and in-person learning classes, respond to and troubleshoot participant issues around receiving attendance credit, common tech issues and accessing on-line content.

  • Collaborate and cooperate with VP of Learning and Development, Director of Instructional Design and SMSs (Subject Matter Specialists) to ensure the appropriateness, clarity, and accuracy of content and ways to integrate technology in the delivery.

  • Ability to receive and incorporate feedback into course materials from VP of Learning and Development, SMS (Subject Matter Specialists), course instructors and participants.

  • Make recommendations regarding instruction delivery options.

  • Manages participant and trainer communication, pre-work and materials for on-site programs coordinating with vendors. Compile and summarize learning data in areas such as program attendance, class utilization, and cancellation trends, tracks class registration and capture attendance.

  • Represent CCA/NY/ILD in meetings and conferences related to instructional delivery.

  • Participate in the development of measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction or training interventions.

  • Maintain an inventory of all L&D technology software and long-range technology replacement plan.

  • Participate in the interview and selection process of the instructional staff as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in talent development and/or organization development.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Psychology/ Social Work/ Development/Leadership, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in delivering interactive on-line courses and course curriculum using adult learning methodologies.

  • Absolute sense of integrity and personal commitment to serving people with I/DD and their families.

  • Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Enthusiastic about leaning and be aware of how digital technology has reshaped learning and development. For example, good knowledge of computer-based training software and current E-learning tools (Adobe Activate, Articulate E learning Studio, Microsoft Office products, Cisco WebEx, Learning Management Systems

  • Understanding of Learning Models and best practices for content delivery for adult learners

  • Experience working with subject matter specialists (SMS) to develop content for specialized tracks in care management.


Work Environment


This position, in accord with business necessity, may operate in-person at an ACA/NY hub or at other sites, in addition to remotely. Travel to off-site locations required; therefore, the incumbent must be comfortable driving or using various forms of public transportation to reach destinations.
