The Director of IT role will provide leadership and oversight to the infrastructure, provisioning, planning, installation, and operations of the department. This role will be responsible for researching and planning for implementation of the IT systems and policies, as well as managing the hardware and operating systems. Additionally, the position will oversee and manage the employees within the IT department, while liaising with other departments to ascertain their technological requirements and developing solutions that are aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives, while having strong project and people management skills.

Job Summary and Job Functions

  • Technology and Information Management Analyze complex business needs presented by business leaders, and develop and implement technical solutions.
  • Explain technology solutions to senior management through presentation
  • Manage, direct, and assign priorities and personnel to major projects to ensure attainment of company goals and objectives.
  • Devise, develop, implement, and maintain systems of internal controls, emergency and backup procedures, proper licensing, system upgrades, and disaster recovery plans to ensure integrity of information, security of databases, and internal network access control.
  • Research latest technology trends and provide recommendations and proposals to the leadership for advancing our technology platform.
  • Develop and administer the information technology budget based on documented needs, and ensure that operations are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
  • Coordinate the purchase of all computer hardware, software, and supplies; initiate purchase orders and bids in accordance with established budget
  • Identify technology needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers
  • Evaluate the company’s adherence to federal technology requirements for security
  • Manage the IT team including developers, security analysts, support technicians and vendors
  • Maintain company hardware and software programs
  • Update technological equipment in the company
  • Implement company-wide technology updates and hold sessions to teach employees on new features

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field is required
  • Previous experience in a software development, information technology role or related field
  • Proof of continued education, such as software certifications, etc.
  • Proven experience in a management role or management capacity in an IT environment
  • Knowledge of technological trends and the ability to conduct technology analyses around a variety of business concepts and ideas
  • Strong project management skills and with the ability to facilitate discussions to resolve conflicting processes, content, and opinions.
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with peers, management, and leaders
  • Understanding of budgets and business-planning
