Phoenix Labor Group is NOW HIRING a Director of Operations! (Location: SW Florida)

Required Experience:

^*^ An associate degree or equivalent work experience is required, with a_ minimum of ten (10) years of experience_ in heavy industry and manufacturing with Government Contracted SHIPBUILDING experience is required.

^*^ A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in a supervisor capacity is required. The incumbent must have experience and thorough knowledge of production procedures, government regulations, and administrative procedures within a marine program with a background in continuous process improvement.

^*^ Must have experience and a working knowledge of all specific operations of typical shipbuilding craft and program management departments, including all machinery and tools.

Description:

*Oversee all aspects of the shipyard and is responsible and accountable for the performance of shipyard personnel for safety, quality, cost, and scheduling, including the administrative functions needed to support shipyard operations.

*Responsible for the daily oversight of facility upgrades/changes as well as facility maintenance.

*Responsible for achieving site production performance results associated with all shipbuilding activities performed or supported at the shipyard. Performance results include, but are not limited to, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Schedule, and Production.

*Manage Sr. Production Managers and Superintendents and work in concert and alignment with other Program Managers/ Project Managers, Engineering, and shared service functions (Sales, Estimating, Purchasing, HR, etc.) to develop macro and micro work plans designed to achieve performance objectives.

*Manage work based on developed plans and will be responsible for prospective reviews of estimates.

*Must actively improve efficiency, cost, and schedule performance, and clear definable mitigation plans shall be established when negative variances occur or are projected.

*This position is empowered to manage overall yard flow, including access and layout of workstations, developing and enforcing processes and procedures, managing and deconflict yard resources among projects/programs, and managing and deconflict yard equipment procurement and staging to improve efficiency, cost, and schedule performance effectively.

*Work with the VP of Operations and other site Directors of Operations to effectively deploy and share workforce and equipment resources to improve overall program execution.

*Accountable for establishing a safe work site and ensuring that all leaders and workers adhere to company policies and associated regulatory requirements.

*Accountable for production performance of regularly reported KPIs and adherence of completed work and worker performance to agreed quality systems, requirements of third-party regulations as applicable, and to specifications or contracts.

*Must be able to pass a drug screen

*This position has direct and indirect management of hundreds of craft employees in various skills and workstations. As a result, responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work.

*Required to document corrective actions and conduct performance reviews of staff and ensure correction actions and performance reviews are consistently applied through their reporting structure.
