We are excited to find a Director of Quality located in our Easton, PA location who will be responsible for quality assurance of our global manufacturing processes.
This role is a critical member of the Operations Team that needs to be both tactical and strategic to drive process/process standards within our global supply chain, while building an overall culture of quality within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic long-term as well as tactical short-term leadership, direction, and supervision for all Quality Management Systems (QMS) programs, projects, initiatives, and personnel.
- Ensure that performance and quality of products conform to established company, customer, and governmental regulatory standards from new product conception through to warranty analysis to ensure a proactive culture so that customers receive the product to the highest standard of quality possible
- Work to prevent non-conformances, customer complaints, concession, and rework alongside Manufacturing/ Engineering and Operations to develop corrective and preventative actions within the required timeframe.
- Improve organization capability with technical and analytical problem-solving skills using a structured methodology such as PDCA, 8D, 3Leg/5Why, and KT
- Ensure effective internal and external audits happen as well as assessment and audit of subcontractors to minimize non-value-added
- Work cross-functionally in teams (CFT) with purchasing, sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, sales, and the customer using Advanced Quality Product Planning (APQP) tools, to develop new products (NPI) and establish related input, process and finished goods specifications.
- Experience and familiarity with modern Quality Assurance techniques including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Bachelors degree (B.A.) in engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business fields required from an accredited four (4) year college or equivalent combination of on-the-job training, experience, professional development, and education. Graduate degree preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of progressive Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Quality Management experience in fast paced, high mix/low volume manufacturing or similarly challenging environments. Experience leading multiple locations is preferred. Complimentary related experience, training, education and/or certification in manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, logistics and materials and/or business management a definite plus.
- ASQ quality certification or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) preferred
- Extensive prior experience in, and responsibility for, development, implementation, and management of robust Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Strong working knowledge of, and hands-on experience with alternative Quality Management System (QMS) tools and metrics, including, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, VSM, FMEA, CAPA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, RCA, PDCA, DMAIC and ISO 9000.
- Ability to travel, as necessary, to company, vendor, and other locations to lead and manage staff and personally participate in various job-related activities, including, but not limited to, employee recruiting, training and reviews, product and process planning, design, development, engineering, testing and validation.
