This position is located at Deer Lodge Medical Center in Deer Lodge, Montana. We are a growing Critical Access Hospital that believes in person centered care as an active member of the Planetree Network. We are looking for a dynamic person to lead our growing surgical department here at Deer Lodge Medical Center. Under the supervision of the CNO, the Director of Surgical Services provides leadership for all surgical services including: the Operating Room, Pre-Op/ PACU, and Sterile Processing. This position is responsible for providing direct supervision, leadership, and guidance to staff to ensure high quality patient care. The Director of Surgical Services works collaboratively on implementing and supporting hospital initiatives, performance improvement, developing and implementing policies, developing and evaluating staff, ensuring clinical competencies, resource management, budget planning and monitoring, scheduling, and compliance with regulatory requirements. $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus, relocation assistance and full benefit package available.

Minimum Required Education and Experience For Surgical Services Director:

• Graduate of a professional school of nursing
• Current RN licensure in the State of Montana (or Compact State)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Minimum of two years varied and progressive perioperative services experience or perioperative nursing management experience with increasing level of administrative responsibility and authority
• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
• Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Minimum of 2 years previous OR, Pre-Op, PACU experience is required

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Master’s Degree in a related field
• Previous Nursing Leadership experience

• Identifies and makes recommendations for department processes to improve in service effective and efficiency.
• Takes responsibility to complete initial/annual competencies as directed.
• Willingly identifies learning needs and keeps up with information necessary for job.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
