Job description
onsemi is looking for a Director of Quality to support our Silicon Carbide (SiC) operations in Hudson, New Hampshire. This role will help us continue to accelerate the company’s SiC strategy and ensure our path to success.
As the Director of Quality, you will serve a critical role in our SiC Operations Group. You will have the opportunity to focus on developing/leading, and engaging operations in quality standards, and continuous improvement activities.
If you have experience/knowledge of quality standards and processes, this is an opportunity to bring your expertise to onsemi. The ability to display a curious and scientific mind and develop relationships while partnering with key stakeholders is essential to being successful in this position.
What you will be responsible for:
- Interacting with internal/external customers to drive improvement activities and ensure product and processes meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborating with various engineering areas to perform statistical analysis to establish Control Plans.
- Reviewing capability studies to identify problems, provide solutions and/or recommendations for improvement, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
- Participating, leading and/or assisting with quality investigations and customer complaints for resolution of quality issues and eliminating problems from re-occurrence.
- Use problem solving methodologies, facilitate deep dive analysis with cross functional teams to resolve product and process quality excursions.
- Interfacing with customers for quality audits, continuous improvement efforts and/or resolution of quality excursions.
- Providing support for MSA on new or existing measurement systems.
- Maintaining quality systems and practices for qualification of product, process, and equipment.
- Maintaining systems for corrective and preventive actions.
- Performing internal and external audits on product/processes to ensure compliance to specifications.
- Ensuring that activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for company processes, materials and products are fully carried out.
- Acting as a technical resource to all areas of Quality Control.
- Implementing, communicating, and monitoring ongoing product quality standards and recommend improvements.
- Reviewing Quality Management System and reporting to Leadership (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) on status, activities, and necessary improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Device Physics, Materials, or relevant field.
- 10+ years in a comparable role(s) - Requires a process engineering background and direct experience in process and equipment statistical process control.
- Organizational and project/time management skills, with a keen ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Must be able to lead not just manage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communications skills, including the ability to challenge ideas in a healthy manner.
- Requires the agility and range to lead across multiple functions in the organization, influencing outcomes and agendas.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 Standards (or comparable).
- Understanding of IATF 16949 standard.
- Understanding of various problem-solving methodologies.
- US and International travel may be required.
